Ihab Kaisar Habashy Deryas

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ihab Kaisar Habashy Deryas, aged 64, who passed away on June 24, 2026, in Raleigh, North Carolina. Born on January 4, 1962, in Cairo, Egypt, he was the beloved son of Kaisar Deryas and Rozine Iskander Abdel Messiah.

Ihab’s life was defined by his dedication to education and leadership. In Egypt, he was a respected mathematics teacher and mentor. After relocating to the United States, he became a successful business owner and later, he was a prominent leader within major American restaurant chains, recognized for his professional mentorship and the positive influence he had on his employees.

Ihab shared a beautiful life with his wife, Elham, whom he married in 1989. Together, they raised their children, Ramez and Gina, and later celebrated the birth of their granddaughter, Lily Malty. He took great pride in his family and leaves behind a legacy of hard work, devotion, and appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. He was known for his extreme generosity and always enjoyed cooking for his loved ones.

He is survived by his wife, Elham Demian; his son, Ramez Deryas; his daughter, Gina Deryas; and his siblings, Ramy and Hayam Deryas, along with a large extended family in Egypt and the United States.

Funeral services will be held at St. Mary's Coptic Orthodox Church in Raleigh, North Carolina, on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at 1:00 PM. Committal services will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.
