She is survived by her son John L. Houston, Jr. and wife Janna, her three grandsons: John III, Robert, & Richard Houston, and her precious cocker spaniel Copper. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Caulton W. Tudor and her beloved Aunts: Julia, Christine “Teen”, & Katherine “Kitty”.
Inez , lovingly known to her family and friends as “Diz” or “Dizzy” was a true southern lady. She loved her family, she loved her cocker spaniels, and she loved the Tar Heels. Inez and Tudor had a shared love of sports and you could often find them talking, agreeing, or debating about any or all sporting events. If Dizzy & Tuesday were not watching their grandsons play sports, they were watching a sporting event at home on TV. She also loved playing tennis or having lunch at the Carolina Country Club with her dear friends. Inez loved to travel and started a successful business event planning for corporations both big and small. She also loved to travel with friends and spent a lot of time planning the perfect “experience”. Inez loved to cook. She had some closely guarded recipes that she only shared with those very close to her. Her corn pudding was legendary and she had to make 2 casserole dishes of it each Thanksgiving for her grandsons!
A dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to thank the caregivers in the Memory Care Unit at Waltonwood Lake Boone who helped care for Dizzy over the past year. Special gratitude and heartfelt thanks to the wonderful caregivers of Heartland Hospice who provided her and her family with kindness and comfort in her last months.
