On August 30, 1947 he married his sweetheart, Alma G. Andrews, and they enjoyed fifty-two years of marriage. He is pre-deceased by his beloved wife, parents C.H. and Nora Andrews and brother C.H. Andrews Jr. He is survived by two daughters, Jackie Gooch and husband Robert of Wilmington and Janet Johnson and husband Charles of Cary.
Jack graduated from Needham Broughton High School and entered the United States Navy serving his country during World War II. After discharge he entered North Carolina State University and graduated in 1950 with a degree in mechanical engineering. He served in the Air Force Reserve until retirement in 1987 and attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel.
He worked in the engineering field for a number of years with N.C. Products and worked on such projects as the Beaufort drawbridge and the NC State tunnel. He later entered the field of real estate and became a commercial broker and property manager until retirement. He held the Certified Property Manager designation as a lifetime member and was a member of the Institute of Real Estate Management, TRAOBA and the Raleigh Board of Realtors.
Jack was a charter member and past president of the North Raleigh Rotary Club. He received the Lifetime Rotary Dedication Award in 2008, and was a Paul Harris Fellow. Rotary was a vital part of his life, and he conducted himself in keeping with the Four Way Test principles of truth, fairness, goodwill and benefit to all.
He was a member of Hudson Memorial Presbyterian Church and was a past deacon as well as serving on the Memorial Garden Committee and the Ushers Committee.
He was a member of Raleigh Golf Association and greatly enjoyed golf and his lunch buddies. He served on the Greens Committee and was the perennial Christmas party chairman.

A memorial service will be held Friday, April 5, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Hudson Memorial Presbyterian Church at 4921 Six Forks Road in Raleigh. The family will receive visitors at the church after the service. Inurnment will be private.
The family is grateful for the love and support shown by so many caring friends.
