James William Joiner

James proudly served his country in the United States Army, including service in South Korea. Throughout his life, he enjoyed playing golf and baseball and loved playing the piano.

James shared 61 years of marriage with his wife, Georgia Winger Joiner. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle whose life was enriched by his family and the many interests he enjoyed over the years.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Georgia Winger Joiner; his children, Alan Joiner and spouse, La'arni Joiner, and Marla Joiner DeNicolais; his grandchildren, Kinsey DeNicolais, Kyla DeNicolais, and Lee Avery Elijah Pagador; and his sister, Iris Jarecke.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Miles David Joiner and Miriam Kesler Joiner, and by David Lee Joiner and Merle “Bob” Joiner.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 20, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Mausoleum Chapel at Raleigh Memorial Park. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. The service will be livestreamed, to join, please use the 'Join Livestream' link in the services box below.
