

Jeff W. Spiller, 67, passed away on May 21, 2026 at UNC Rex Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina. Born on June 12, 1958 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; he was the son of the late Harold E. Spiller and Dolores B. Spiller; brother of Catherine M. Spiller, of Raleigh and Lisa Miller and husband Sam, of Raleigh; and uncle of Travis Miller.
He is also survived by his aunts and uncle: Judy Bacon, Howard Bacon, Vivian Blazic and Carol Reichardt; numerous cousins on the Spiller and Bacon sides of the family.
Jeff graduated from New Berlin West High School in 1976 - the 200th year of the United States. He participated on the Swim and Track Teams. He attended the University of Wisconsin - Platteville from 1976-1981 for Surveying and Mining and received an Associates Degree from Wake Technical Community College in Raleigh, NC.
Throughout his life, Jeff enjoyed numerous hobbies, including photography, crafting with soap, wood (turning pens and handmade salt and pepper shakers) and leather (making wallets, check holders and even a field book cover, all still in wonderful condition). He enjoyed trying new recipes and had collections of cookbooks, DVD/Blue Ray movies and SCI-FI novels.
A land surveyor for commercial and residential projects for the majority of his career; he worked for Niall Gillespie, PLS in Wake County for over 20 years.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, June 5, 2026 at 6:00 pm at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Raleigh, NC. A Private Family Graveside will be held at Raleigh Memorial Park.
