Honest, dependable, trustworthy and generous, Jimmie was a product of the values on which he was raised in his hometown of Elon, North Carolina. Jimmie moved to Raleigh in 1981, to earn his B.A. in Business from North Carolina State University. Jimmie was licensed in property, casualty, life and health insurances in NC and throughout the Southeast. He was dedicated to the insurance business and the clients he served.
Over his 28 years in the insurance industry, Jimmie earned many accolades for his expertise and dedication. He was appointed to the National Consumer Advisory Board for Utica National Insurance in 2006 and remained a current member. Jimmie was also designated as a Utica Key Club Member, for outstanding sales in the US, in both 2007 and 2008. Jimmie served on the Agency Technology Committee for the Independent Insurance Agents Association. Having spent 15 years as the Chief Operating Officer for IGO Insurance under the Independent Garage Owners of North Carolina, Jimmie Purchased the agency from the association in 2013. Prior to purchasing his business, Jimmie began his career as an agent for the Wade S. Dunbar Agency. He then moved on as a commercial agent with Ed Moore & Associates.
Always active, Jimmie was involved in Rotary Club Intern’l of Cary, Young Agents of IIANC, recreational softball leagues, and a charter member of Lonnie Poole Golf Club.
He was proceeded in death by his father Jimmie Foxx Robertson
Jimmie is survived by his wife Sherry Stout Robertson; mother, Zane Sledge Robertson of Elon, NC; aunt, Jean Poe of Burlington, NC; cousin, Michael Poe of Holly Springs, NC; and in-laws, Bob and Ava Stout of Raleigh, NC; and his loyal Corgidor, Coleman.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at 1:00pm at the Friendship Baptist Church Chapel, 5510 Falls of Neuse Rd., Raleigh, NC 27609.
