

Born on November 23, 1956, in Rochester, New York, John was the proud "lucky number seven" of nine children. He was an overwhelmingly positive person with a bright personality who cared deeply for those he loved.
John attended St. Agnes Catholic School in Avon, New York, before graduating from McQuaid Jesuit High School in Rochester in 1974. He went on to Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, where he majored in Hotel Administration at the Cornell School of Hotel Administration and Business and Finance at the Cornell School of Business. While at Cornell, he was a proud member of Alpha Delta Phi Fraternity, where he served as both Treasurer and President. John later earned his Master's in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Rochester.
John built a successful career in sales and business leadership, holding executive roles at several companies throughout his career.
John was an active and devoted member of the Raleigh Racquet Club, where he served on the Board of Directors and later as President, building lasting friendships within the community.
John was predeceased by his mother, Jane Morgan Bruckel; his father, William J. Bruckel; his brothers, William J. Bruckel, Jr. and Jerome David Bruckel; his sisters-in-law, Debra Iler, and Cindy Bruckel; and his nephew, David Elliot.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Susan Bruckel (formerly Greene); his stepson, Jack Greene (Suzy Greene), and step-granddaughter, Lillian Monroe Greene; and his siblings: Joan Bruckel (Charles Witmer), Nancy Elliot (John Elliot), Martha Fisk (Jeffery Fisk), Suzanne Monaghan (Robert Monaghan), Peter Bruckel (Hellen Bruckel), and Thomas Bruckel (Patricia Bruckel), along with 24 nieces and nephews who will dearly miss him.
John will be remembered for his warmth, his positivity, and the deep love he had for his family and friends.
