John Jerome “Jack” Fallon 92, passed away on May 18, 2018 at his home in Raleigh, NC. Born on April 3, 1926 in Johnson City, NY. He is the son of the late Joseph Kenneth Fallon and Anna Katherine Dobrovolsky Fallon.
Jack served honorably in the US Army during WWII. Following his discharge, he studied Electrical and Mechanical engineering. at Syracuse University, and the University of Florida. While still in college, he was called home to manage the family business. After a time, Jack was able to begin his career with IBM, working in Charlotte, NC, Endicott, NY, Gaithersburg, MD, the Pentagon in Washington, DC, La Gaude, France, and then finally nearby at the Research Triangle Park.
Jack married Carolyn Brown sixty-four and a half years ago. Together they raised their four children and were active travelers. Jack also enjoyed camping, fishing, playing cards (poker and bridge), bowling, square dancing and was a member of the Raleigh Sports Club and Knights of Columbus. He was an active member of Saint Francis of Assisi Church. He was computer and cell phone savvy for his 92 years and thoroughly enjoyed keeping in contact with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife: Carolyn B. Fallon; children: Keith Fallon, of Apex, Kevin Fallon and wife Leonora, of Raleigh (formerly of California), and Pamela Wilson and husband Michael Lightner, of Clover SC; grandchildren: Stephanie, Elizabeth and Joseph Fallon and Mitchell Melia and her husband Justin; and by other extended family and friends.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother-in-law Jane and Earl Gosline, son Paul Fallon, and granddaughter Caroline Fallon.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, June 2nd at 11 am in the main sanctuary of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church (11401 Leesville Road in Raleigh). A reception will follow for friends and family.
