I began practicing law in Raleigh in 1991, and Jack was one of the kind lawyers willing to help me find my way.   Then he became to me a wealth of good advice and judgment.  I still think of calling him when I am considering an appeal.  I am grateful for his life.

Ahh he taught me my first first law class - Communication Law at NC State.  The first test was so difficult I cried but I learned so much from him. I did in fact make it to law school and out.  I saved that test and the pen he gave out. Will never forget him.

Jack added a great richness to my life with theatre activities, support and friendship. Any time I have a mustache for a play, I will certainly think of Jack. He will be sorely missed, but never forgotten.

Hold your memories close as the grieving process helps to mend the hole in your heart.  I knew Jack more years than I care to admit, and he probably taught me more about the legal field than anyone.  He hired me as an employee for the State of NC and we worked together many years.  He ALWAYS purchased a "Peppermint Patty" for me on 'pay day' --- I never really cared for peppermint but I loved the thought.  He was a gentle giant in my book and I shall miss him.

As the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life's routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family and friends.

I met Mr. Hall when I became good friends with his daughter Kathleen. I did not know him for a long time, but I can say he honestly was one of the nicest guys I ever met. Always ready to have a chat or an intelligent conversation and was a very positive person. That was my first impression of him. Also he just seemed to really care about people. My prayers go out to Kathleen and family. I was truly sad when I saw the news.

I knew Jack through the NCSU Department of Communication.  We shared office space as adjuncts. He was smart, intelligent, kind, and had a wonderful, dry, sense of humor.  It was an honor to know him.

Jack....what can I say...He was one of a kind.  I worked with him for many years at the McDowell street law building.  We referred to ourselves as the 420 Gang.  I saw him almost everyday for almost 14 years!  He was always so kind to me and even most recently gave me a glowing reference on LinkedIn!  What a special man!

I knew Mr. Hall from the Wake County Courthouse. He used to come to my office quite often to drop off paperwork for the judges and always took the time to sit down and chat with me. He impressed me with his intelligence and kindness, continuously offering me encouragement when he found out I was working to further my education. Though my contact with him had been very sporadic over the last few years, he was and will continue to be a gentleman I admire greatly and am very glad to have had the opportunity to know. My deepest condolences to his family. You will be in my prayers.
