John R. Kleinfeldt, 79, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2019 surrounded by his beloved wife and loving children. Born on December 27, 1939 in Brooklyn, NY; he was the son of the late John and Mabel Kleinfeldt. He is survived by his wife: Eileen; children: Patricia Kleinfeldt and fiancé Robert, of Commack, NY, John Kleinfeldt, of Beacon, NY and Michael Kleinfeldt, of Kings Park, NY; his step-children: Richard Hinze and wife Joann, of Franklinton, NC and David Hinze, of Stony Point, NC; three grandchildren: Nicholas Hinze, Sythia Hinze and Andrew Hinze; and by his brother: Charlie Kleinfeldt and family.
He served honorably in the United States Navy, aboard the USS Beale 417 from 1958 – 1962. John retired as a truck driver with Roadway after 25 years with the company. He was a Captain in the Nesconset, NY Fire Department, served with the Woodhaven Ambulance core, was a huge Giants and Rangers fan, loved his model trains and most importantly, loved his family.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 7th from 1-3 pm at Mitchell Funeral Home, with Funeral Services to begin at 3 pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment, with Military Honors to follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.
