OBITUARY

Judith Parker Glover

August 14, 1940April 7, 2019

Judith Parker Glover, 78, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 7th, 2019 at Rex Healthcare in Raleigh. Born on August 14, 1940 in Erwin, NC; she was the daughter of the late Samuel Parker and Aidell Allen Parker.

Judy spent many years working in personnel and administration for Burlington Industries, Pine State Creamery, the Wake County Public School system, and the NC Department of Revenue. It was at Pine State that she met Malvin Glover and on February 14, 1981 they were married. She was an active member in the choir and Women’s group at First Baptist Church in Erwin, NC for many years. In her later years she became a member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Raleigh, NC. She loved working with the Women on a Mission group and dedicated most of her free time to creating pillows for Nursing homes in the area.

Judy loved her family and was quite proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was always “picking up” little surprises to give whenever they came to visit. Her love of baking, gardening, and people filled her days.

Her daughters, Lori and Tina were blessed to have such a Godly mother, and the lessons she instilled in them will continue in their lives and generations to come. The ability to love in every situation and smile at adversity is her legacy.

She had an infectious laugh and her smile would light up the room. The gifts she gave to her family and friends will long be remembered, and the imprint she made on their lives will last forever.

She is survived by her husband: Malvin Glover and his son Greg Alan Glover and wife Robin Glover of Cary, NC; daughters: Lori Johnson Dorman Darner and husband Harold Darner of North East Maryland, Tina Johnson Strickland and husband Charles Allen Strickland of Erwin, NC; grandsons: Alex Dorman, Christopher Dorman, Andrew Dorman, Johnathon Dorman, and Alan Glover; granddaughters: Angel Dorman, Heather Strickland, Danielle Strickland, and Jessica Glover; sister: Montez Roudebush; brother and sister in law: Dallas T. Glover and Faye Glover of Youngsville, NC; nephew: Troy Glover of Youngsville, NC; and 9 great grandsons and 5 great granddaughters.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, April 11th from 1-2 pm at Emmanuel Baptist Church (2100 Noble Road in Raleigh), with Funeral Services to begin at 2 pm. Interment will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.

It really made me sad to hear of Ms. Judy's passing. My sympathies for her loving family as I know they will miss her greatly. Ms. Judy always had a smile on her face and an encouraging word. I am confident she is in the presence of our Lord and she is smiling at the wonders before her eyes.

I work at DOR and Ms Judy always had a warm smile on her face. She always had a comforting word to share. She will be missed. But I know she is enjoying her time with her Heavenly Father. Sending prayers and love to the family at this time.

I had the pleasure of working with Ms. Judy at NCDOR. She was a joy to work closely with every day. She always had a smile for you every morning. She loved telling me about Mal and her girls and grandkids. She loved them so deeply. One thing that made an impact on me was her gift of giving. She amazed me. Every year at Christmas, she brought delicious baked goods or gifts for everyone. I mean everyone from the basement up to the 6th floor, including the cafeteria staff and security. She was always helping those in need and always had a kind word to everyone. I could keep writing great things about her, but space is limited. It was a great pleasure being allowed to be part of her work life. She made an impact on my life. My thoughts and prayers are with her family because I know they will truly miss her. Just remember that she is in Heaven looking down upon you and walking with you with every step you take.
