He graduated from Western Carolina University in 1978. He worked as a project manager at Alcatel-Lucent.
He is preceded in death by his father, Julian Henry Squires; mother, Myrtle Butler Squires; and son, Robert Alan Squires.
He is survived by his son, Julian Scott Squires.
A funeral service for Julian was held Friday, November 3, 2023 at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27612, followed by a graveside service.
