Kara Brock Benson

Kara was born in 1923 at home near Wilmington, NC. She worked in various medical offices in Wilmington and Raleigh before retiring from the North Carolina Health Laboratory in Raleigh. She was active in her church and volunteered with Hope Line, Hospice of Alamance County, The Red Cross and Rex and Alamance Hospitals. She was an expert seamstress, gardener and a “Mom to Many”.

Kara is survived by her sons, Ron and his wife Nellie from Chapel Hill, NC and Terry and his wife Toni from Raleigh, as well as 6 grandchildren, Patrick Benson of Chapel Hill, Ron Benson Jr, and wife Kelly of Richmond, VA, Kate Scott and her husband Jason of Bennett, NC, Robyn Parker and her husband Don of Delway, NC, Val Edwards and his wife Mary Burr, and Stephanie Earp and her husband Scott all of Raleigh NC, and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation and Services will be conducted at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home at 300 St. Mary’s Street in Raleigh. Visitation will be at 1:00 on Saturday, November 6th with Services immediately following at 2:00 in the Wynne Center.
