

Kathleen Brady Keith was born in Roanoke, VA and lived there until she went to college. After attending Mary Washington College for 2 years, she transferred to Johns Hopkins Nursing School and graduated with a RN degree in 1946. While at Johns Hopkins, she met her future husband, Thomas M. Horsley, MD. They were married in 1948, and in 1950 they moved to Elizabeth City, NC so that Tom could set up his medical practice. They lived in Elizabeth City until Tom’s death in Dec. 2007, and then Kitty moved to Raleigh to be near her daughter. Both Tom and Kitty loved living in Elizabeth City, especially in their home on the beautiful Pasquotank River.
Kitty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas M. Horsley, MD.
She is survived by two children, Brian Horsley and wife, Sarah Gardner of Nags Head; Anne Murray and husband, Bill of Raleigh; two grandchildren, Kevin Murray and wife, Brittany, of Winston-Salem; and Virginia Murray of Raleigh. Kitty is also survived by her two sisters, Bitsy McMurry of Daleville, VA and Peggy Barnett of Washington, GA; a brother and sister-in-law, Ralph and Patty Turpin of Lovingston, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 14th from 6:30 to 8:30 pm at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 St. Mary’s St., Raleigh.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 15th at 1:00 pm at Mountain View Cemetery in Lovingston, VA.
The family would like to thank the Reminiscence staff at Sunrise at North Hills for the compassionate care shown to Kitty during her stay there.
