

Kathleen Anne Watson, 47, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2011, surrounded by her friends and family. She was born on December 7, 1963 in Little Falls, MN to her parents John C. Watson and the late Polly A. Watson.
Kathy graduated in 1982 from Park Rapids Area High School in Park Rapids, MN and in 1986, from N. Dakota State in Fargo, N. Dakota, with a BS Degree in Medical Technology. She was active in athletics, playing basketball, swimming, and on the track and field team. She also excelled at softball, playing on the N. Dakota State Varsity softball team. Shortly after, she entered her military service with the US Army and was stationed at the U.S. Army Medical Institute for Infectious Diseases, Fort Detrick, MD. Kathy left military service in 1989 and worked the biotechnology industry for multiple government and industry organizations, and was most recently employed by Pfizer as one of their Senior Regulatory Affairs Managers at their facility in Sanford, NC. In addition, Kathy was also an associate member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists. Kathy enjoyed travelling, collecting pottery, decorating, and above all spending time with her friends and family.
Kathy is lovingly remembered by her father John C. Watson and his wife Beverly, of Park Rapids, MN; her brother Scott Watson and his wife Rita and their two daughters Regan and Alexandra, all of Culpeper, VA. She will also be dearly missed by her friend and fiancé, Robert ‘Bob’ Roudabush and his two daughters, Jessie and Nikki, of Holly Springs. Kathy was preceded in death by her mother Polly Anne Watson in 1996.
A Celebration of Kathy’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday July 30th, at the chapel of Brown Wynne Funeral Home, 300 St. Mary’s Street, Raleigh, NC. The family will receive friends prior to the service. Services will be held in Park Rapids, MN at a later date.
