Lamarr Robinson

Lamarr was born to Reno Robinson and Lucille Robinson, on January 14,1947. Born in Jasper, Tennessee, Lamarr “Butch” grew up in Chattanooga. After serving his country in Vietnam, he moved to Raleigh, North Carolina, where he earned an engineering degree from NC State University.

Lamarr married the love of his life, Connie, and they shared nearly 50 wonderful years of marriage before she preceded him in death. Together, they built a life filled with family, travel, and many cherished memories.

Lamarr was a highly successful business owner and Manufacturer’s Representative in the plumbing industry. He built his own business, R.L. Robinson and Associates, and became a true trailblazer in the industry. He was instrumental in developing ADA products for the companies he represented and was recognized with numerous industry awards for his sales achievements, innovation, and ingenuity. His business success and leadership extended beyond the plumbing industry as well, and he was honored for his service as a board member of NorthState Bank. Lamarr was also a member of Christ Baptist Church, where his faith was an important part of his life.

One of Lamarr’s greatest passions was leatherworking. With remarkable skill and patience, he handcrafted saddles, chaps, spur straps, knife sheaths, and belts, often incorporating his love of the American West into his work. He and Connie shared a special love of the West and enjoyed traveling there together on many occasions.

Above all, Lamarr loved his family. His love for them was evident to everyone who knew him. He treasured being surrounded by family and took great joy in bringing everyone together. He had a special gift for making holidays memorable and filling family gatherings with warmth. He also found great joy in bass fishing in his local ponds. He knew how to catch them up, and fishing gave him another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, appreciate the simple pleasures of life, and spend time doing something he loved.

Left to cherish his memory is his 2 daughters, Angie Eddins and her husband Blair of Millers Creek, and Renee Crocker of Raleigh; 4 grandchildren, Bryce Crocker and his wife Bridget Crocker, Taylor Crocker, Sgt Aaron Eddins and his wife Emily Eddins, Amanda Harbour and her husband Braden Harbour; and 2 great granddaughters Addyson Crocker and Teegan Crocker.

Lamarr was preceded in death by his wife Connie Robinson, both parents Reno and Lucille Robinson and 2 sisters, JoAnn Payne and Sandra Cofer.

The family will receive family and friends in the Mausoleum Chapel at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27612, on September 17, 2026, beginning at 10:00 am. A Committal Service will follow.

The family also invites everyone attending to also join them for a reception at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27612, directly after the committal

We hold onto the promise of eternal life and rejoice in knowing that he is home with Jesus.
