Laura J. Starnes Cox, formerly of Knoxville and Alcoa, passed away in Raleigh, NC, 9 November 2014. She was born Laura Juanita Lee, 21 November 1925, in LaFollette, daughter of James and Della Lee. She was predeceased by her parents, her first husband, William C. Starnes (1975), second husband, Daniel B. Cox (1990), and ten brothers and sisters. She is survived by son, Wayne Calvin Starnes, of Raleigh, siblings Millard Lee, Lucille Smith, Frankie Huddleston, Mable Caton, George Lee, and Ewell Lee of LaFollette, Virginia, Michigan, and Ohio, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was formerly a member of Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church. Laura had not the privilege of much formal education but she always knew the value of it and stressed its importance, which carried her son far in life. For that, he is eternally appreciative and will always love her for it. Graveside services are to be held at Highland Memorial Cemetery, Knoxville Tennesse, in the Garden of the Gospels at 2pm Thursday November 13, 2014.
