LaVerne P. Fails

She was born March 3, 1918 in Jester, OK a daughter of Alva Hinz and Evelyn Packston Peevey. She married Emol Atwood Fails.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. E.A. Fails, one sister, Naomi Heatly, and one brother, Dale Peevey.

Surviving are her son, Dwayne Norris Fails and his wife, Angie Beard Fails of Raleigh; and several other extended family.

Mrs. Fails attended Oklahoma State University and George Peabody University.

Mrs. Fails moved to Raleigh with her husband in the 40’s. She taught at Garner High School for 25 years and then became a Certified Counselor. She was then a Counselor at Enloe High School and Broughton High School.

She was affiliated with Alpha Delta Kappa as past President and the N.C. Planning Commission. She was a member of Brooks Avenue Church of Christ.

A funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Brooks Avenue Church of Christ. Visitation will be from 1:30 until the time of the service at the church. Entombment will be private in Raleigh Memorial Park Mausoleum.
