My family and I have known Larry for decades. My step father Michael Haymore first met him in Statesville when he taught at the community college. Since then Larry has joined us for birthday parties and dinner, providing historical insights for our community of artists. His knowledge, support and sardonic wit have been a delight to me and I will miss sharing conversations and exchanging letters with him.

I first met Larry in 1974 when I started teaching at Mitchell Community College. We worked together for nine years, and I have many happy memories of those times. I studied French with him, and he made the best spinach pie ever! We remained friends for 44 years, exchanging birthday and Christmas cards, letters, pictures, and a few phone calls. Larry, I will miss you. You made my world a better place. Godspeed, and may you Rest In Peace.

** Larry Marangos and I were close friends for over 70 years. I knew Larry as being friendly, honest, thoughtful, loving, and a man of God. I strongly believe that Larry now dwells with God in the company of Saints with his loving parents and friends. **
