Lorraine Ann Alonge

It is with deep sorrow to share the passing of Lorraine Ann Alonge, 92, of Raleigh, North Carolina. She passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025 surrounded by family. Lorraine was born on September 16, 1933 in Brooklyn, NY.

As we remember Lorraine, let us celebrate the legacy of love, kindness, and inspiration she leaves behind. Lorraine grew up with her sister and parents in Brooklyn, NY, close to other

family. She graduated from SUNY Cortland in 1954 and later became a passionate teacher in NY State before dedicating the next 18 years to raising her children. Lorraine then became the assistant to the Head of Graduate Psychology at Hofstra University.

Lorraine loved being with her family and friends, cooking in the kitchen, and hosting many parties at her Long Island home. She leaves behind her family; daughter Gina Flanders , son Leonard Alonge , and grandchildren Lynde and Luke Flanders. She is predeceased by her loving husband Frank and sister Louise.

Additionally, Lorraine was a loving aunt and cousin to an extended Italian-American family.

A Visitation was held on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC. A Funeral Service was held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Mitchell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Raleigh Memorial Park.
