Louis Martin

Luiz Fernando Martins dos Santos passed away on June 21, 2021 at the age of 59, in Durham, North Carolina. His life’s mission was to create a loving and connected family and his success in doing so is what makes his passing so bittersweet.

He is survived by his wife, Linn Roxanne Martin; his children, Ryan Martin, (Jennifer Ma), Natasha Santos, Ashton Santos, (Katherine Pritchard), Joshua Martin, Noah Martin (Ellie Johnston) his father, Adao Luiz Santos and the late Ivone Martins Dos Santos as well as his sister Suzana Santos and siblings, Andre Luiz Santos; Gisele Camila Santos; Augustus Alem Santos.

Always a trailblazer, Fernando ventured from his home and loved ones in Porto Alegre, Brazil to explore America. Despite only being a teenager when he arrived, Fernando was able to use his dedication and immense intelligence to learn a new language and culture, to graduate with an MBA from BYU, and to start multiple businesses, to travel the world, to build a life for himself and his wife Linn, and to support his children as they embarked on their own journeys. His achievements will extend far beyond his passing, and while he will be missed, he lives on through his five eternally grateful children.

Fernando will be remembered and celebrated by his family and loved ones on Friday, July 9th and Saturday, July 10th. A visitation will be held on Friday, July 9, 2021 from 5:00 – 7:00pm at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh 27612. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 10 at 3:00 pm in the Chapel of Mitchell Funeral Home. Dress code: Come as you are, however you are.

Luiz Fernando Martins dos Santos faleceu em 21 de junho de 2021, aos 59 anos de idade, em Durhan, Carolina do Norte, nos Estados Unidos. Seu propósito de vida foi criar uma família unida e amorosa, e o êxito nessa missão é o que torna seu falecimento tão doloroso.

Luiz deixa a esposa Linn Roxanne Martin; os filhos Ryan Martin, Natasha Santos, Ashton Santos, Joshua Martin, Noah Martin; as noras Jennifer Ma, Katherine Pritchard e Ellie Johnston; o pai Adão Luiz Santos, e os irmãos Suzana Santos, André Luiz Santos, Gisele Camila Santos e Augustus Além Santos. Também recordamos sua mãe, Ivone Martins Dos Santos, já falecida.

Sempre pioneiro, Fernando deixou sem medo o lar e a família em Porto Alegre para explorar os Estados Unidos ainda adolescente, e usou sua perseverança e imensa inteligência para aprender uma nova língua e uma nova cultura. Obteve um MBA pela Brigham Young University, ocupou cargos executivos em diversas empresas Fortune 50, fundou empresas próprias, viajou pelo mundo e construiu uma vida feliz para si mesmo e para a esposa Linn Martin. Por toda a vida, Luiz dedicou-se de coração a incentivar e apoiar a jornada pessoal dos cinco filhos. Mesmo deixando saudades, ele continuará vivendo através de suas realizações e da gratidão eterna da família.

Fernando será lembrado e homenageado pela família e os amigos na sexta-feira e no sábado, 9 e 10 de julho de 2021.

Os atos fúnebres serão realizados na Mitchell Funeral Home, Raleigh Memorial Park.
