

Louise was married for 74 years to the love of her life, Jack F. Harmon, with whom she loved and raised three children. Family was everything to her and she loved spending time with her husband, two daughters, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and her great, great grandson. She was deep in her faith and shared and showed the importance of that faith with her family and friends. She was kind, loving, generous and thoughtful to all. She had been an active member of Broad Street United Methodist Church, Statesville, NC, Highland United Methodist Church, Raleigh, NC and Southern Pines United Methodist Church, Southern Pines,NC, especially in the women’s groups. Louise was active in the Statesville Garden Club and the Women’s Club. She had a passion for Meals on Wheels and volunteered with them for many years. Louise loved to watch golf, read, and discuss current events.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband Jack F. Harmon, son Jack F. Harmon, Jr., and sisters Greta Sink and Polly Robertson. Louise is survived by daughters, Beverly Layne and Diane Lamont, son-in-law Dean Lamont, sister Gayle Norsen and husband Ed and brother Gray Holcomb, grandchildren Debbie Lewis and husband Paul, Jeff Lamont and wife Tamara, Bryan Lamont and wife Emily, and Kristin Miller and husband Chris, great grandchildren, Ashley Lewis, Hannah Lewis, Joshua Lamont, Shane Lamont, Kaydence Miller, Holcomb Lamont and Ebby Lamont, and great, great grandchild Jack Cook.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC, with a visitation to follow. Donations may be made to Duke Cancer Support Program, PO Box 3139 Durham, NC 27710.
