Loy Ann Fister

She was born on October 6, 1937 in Jamestown NY, the daughter of the late Harold and Madge Seager. She graduated from Southwestern Central High School in 1955. Her career started at the Insurance Company of North America in Syracuse NY. She later moved to San Francisco to work for The Flinkote Company in the sales department. A lover of travel, she visited every state on the west coast, including Hawaii. Upon returning to Syracuse, NY she worked in the Semiconductor Department at General Electric. There she met and then married Stephen (Istvan) Antal Fister on July 31, 1962. In 1964, they moved to San Jose, where they both worked for the Atomic Power Equipment Division of GE. Later, they returned to NY and lived in Liverpool for 19 years before moving to Cary, NC in 1986, where Loy Ann worked for the Research Triangle Institute at RTP.

She is survived by two sons, Erik (Amy) Fister of Wake Forest and Stephen Fister Jr. of Apex; six grandchildren: Melody, Kathryn, Julianna, Charley, Jada, and Cole; and five great grandchildren: Eli, Anastasia, Archer, Jesse, and Zain.

Loy Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen (Istvan), and her grandson, Warrick.

The funeral will be held at Raleigh Memorial Park Mausoleum at 7501 Glenwood Ave Raleigh, NC on Sunday, September 28th, 2025, at 2:00 pm.
