An avid golfer, fisherman and gardener, he was able to pursue his avocations with his friends as much as he pleased. Matt celebrated his love of music with his collection of guitars, attending concerts around the Triangle area, volunteering at the International Bluegrass Festival and on occasion playing in his brother-in-law Robin’s band. Most importantly, other than the last few months, he lived a very healthy life even finishing the New York City Marathon six times. He also enjoyed spending time on his boat on the Crystal Coast.
