Donna Walsh was born July 9th, 1933 in Hazel Green, Wisconsin to the late Harry and Inez Oldenburg. She spent much of her childhood in Galena, Illinois, before moving to Southern California. She met and married Bob Walsh while living in California, briefly living in New Jersey, before settling in Raleigh, NC in 1969.
Donna was an avid baker and homemaker, who enjoyed going to the beach and being outside. She loved making cakes and cookies, as well as homemade cinnamon rolls for her family every Christmas. In her later years, Donna enjoyed visiting with family and friends and sharing old stories.
Donna is survived by her children, daughter, Caren, and her husband JC, of Wilson Mills, NC; sons, Michael, and his wife Mary, of Pembroke Pines, FL, Timothy, and his wife Anita, of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, Kenneth and his wife Agatija, of Raleigh, NC, and her daughter-in-law Kim, of Raleigh, NC; sister, Nancy Chaput, and her husband Dale, of Yorba Linda, CA; grandchildren, Michael Jr, Monique, Sean, Lindsay, Dennis Jr., Cameron and Aiden, as well as four great grandchildren, Jonathan, Noah, Michael and David.
In addition to her husband and parents, Donna was preceded in death by her sons, Patrick Thomas Walsh and Dennis Thomas Walsh.
A Liturgy of the Word was offered on Friday, February 3, 2021 in the Chapel of Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh.
