Magda “Maggie” Sadek Boghdadi, 68, passed away unexpectedly on June 18, 2018 in the comfort of her own home. Born on November 1, 1949 in Egypt, she was the daughter of the late Sadek Morcos and Attiat Toma and wife of the late Mosen Boghdadi.
She is survived by her sons, Ramy (Kelly) Boghdadi and Peter Boghdadi, brothers Baher (Nora) Morcos and Nayer Morcos, grandchildren Layla (10) and Kenzie (8) and other family and friends.
Magda earned a degree in Journalism while residing in Cairo, Egypt. She worked in banking for over 25 years and also enjoyed her work as a Design Consultant for Havertys Furniture in Raleigh. Because Magda was fluent in both the Arabic and French language, she spent time tutoring the US Armed Forces at Fort Bragg Military Installation in North Carolina. Magda also successfully published her own novel, From the Nile to the Hudson in 2009.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 22nd at 2 p.m. at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27612. Burial to follow at Raleigh Memorial Park. A reception will follow back at Mitchell Funeral Home.
