Marcia Diane Ferrell

Diane was born on June 30, 1946 in Raleigh, NC to Grady and Polly Ferrell. She had many close friends from all of her years of growing up in Raleigh. She attended Sherwood Bates Elementary, Daniels Junior High, Broughton High School and Peace College. She attended Hayes Barton United Methodist Church where she served on several committees over the years. She loved attending the early service with her sister Janet and her brothers, "Butchie" and "Baby Bill", and family. Diane also was very active in the ACC Sunday school class and enjoyed catching up with everyone weekly and staying long after church was over to socialize….it was her favorite part of the week!

Diane was predeceased by her parents and her nephew, Chris Ferrell. She is survived by her siblings, Grady Ferrell (Dede), Janet Comrie, Kip Ferrell (Ann), Brent Ferrell (Debbie) and Bill Ferrell (Melissa). She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Mary Hampton Ferrell, Trace Ferrell, Walker Ferrell, Katherine Clarke, Brent Ferrell, Jr., Benjamin Ferrell, Banks Ferrell, Polly Ferrell, Allie Ferrell and Britton Ferrell.

Diane’s service will be at 2:00p.m. on Friday, October 6 at Hayes Barton United Methodist Church, 2209 Fairview Rd, Raleigh. The family will receive friends following the service. Services will be livestreamed through the following link, https://www.hbumc.org/live.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hayes Barton United Methodist Church.
