She was born March 14, 1932 in Raleigh a daughter of the late John Hicks Johnson and Margaret Wells Johnson. She grew up in Raleigh attending St. Mary’s High School and then went on to Salem College. She lived in New York City and Fort Lauderdale, Florida and travelled extensively before returning to Raleigh In the early 90’s.
Peggie is survived by her brother, John H. Johnson of San Mateo, CA, niece, Jane Johnson of San Mateo, CA, and 2 nephews John H. Johnson of Nokomis, FL and James T. Johnson of Denver, CO.
A graveside service will be held at 11 am Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Historic Oakwood Cemetery, 701 Oakwood Ave. Raleigh.
