Margaret D. Kerr died on March 6, 2015, at the age of 71. She had resided for the past four years at UniHealth Post-Acute Care (UPAC) - Raleigh, recently renamed PruittHealth - Raleigh. A graduate of Meredith College, she worked for several years in Washington, DC, as a technical editor of scientific publications. Born in Raleigh, Margaret returned to North Carolina in 1976. She faced difficult health challenges all her life and met them with courage and a zest for life.
She is survived by two sisters – Carolyn Brumfield of Jacksonville Beach, FL, and Kathryn Perkinson of Greenbelt, MD, three nephews, and beloved friends.
A memorial service will be held on April 11, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel at PruittHealth - Raleigh, 2420 Lake Wheeler Road, Raleigh 27603. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) North Carolina.
