Margaret Ann Wilson, 70, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2021 in Raleigh, NC surrounded by her sisters. Peg was born May 19, 1951 in Orange, NJ and grew up in Wilmington, Delaware. After graduating from Brandywine High School she attended Mary Washington College and, later, completed her Masters of Occupational Therapy at Virginia Commonwealth University.
For more than 40 years, Peg's primary concentration was helping children in the DC area. She loved her patients, and they loved her.
When she retired from private practice, she moved to Raleigh to be near family. Peg was known for her kindness and generosity, her love of travel, her perseverance and positive attitude despite medical adversities, and her love of her beautiful cat, Kaley, who passed away in May. Living in Alexandria, VA for much of her life provided her the opportunity to enjoy her many friends and all the cultural benefits of the DC area.
She is survived by her sisters, Barbara Little (Richard), Tricia Whetham (Chris) and Sally Smith (Gary) along with her much loved nieces Katie and Kelly Whetham, Gabby and Savi Smith and nephews Chip Little and Noah Smith.
Her family is grateful to the caring staff of Brighton Gardens of Raleigh and her many friends there. Doctors Making House Calls and the Duke Hospital system were instrumental in her care.
A Service Celebrating Peg’s Life will be held on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Mitchell Funeral Home in Raleigh. All are welcomed to a reception following. A hyperlink to a video of the service can be found below under DONATIONS.
