

Marianne was born April 4, 1937 in Jersey City, NJ to the late John Flynn and Mary Jennings Flynn. For most of her life she lived in New Jersey, until moving to Raleigh in 1979. Marianne was proud of her Irish heritage and devoted to her Catholic faith. She was actively involved with her church for many years Saint Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church. She was also very actively involved with Wake County Human Services, where she was employed until her retirement.
Most of all Marianne was committed to her family, she loved her children and grandchildren very much. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Paul Henninger in 2003, and her daughter Marianne K. Henninger, in 2011.
Surviving are her five children, Karen H. Norris and husband, Timothy of Raleigh; Paul R. Henninger and wife, Susan of Point Pleasant, NJ; Michael J. Henninger and wife, Edie of Raleigh; Nancy A. Henninger of Raleigh; and Kevin J. Henninger of North Carolina; and six beloved grandchildren, Joshua, Flynn, Christian, Bobby, Micaela, and McKenna.
A funeral mass was held Thursday, October 25th, at 1:00pm at Saint Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church, 5801 Falls of Neuse Road, Raleigh. The family will received friends one hour prior to the service, from 12-1pm at the church. Inurnment will be held in the columbarium at Saint Raphael.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either Covenant House of New York, 427 West 52nd Street, New York, NY 10019, or to Victory Junction, 4500 Adam’s Way Randleman, NC 27317.
