Mario Louis De Cristoforo

The Late Mr. Mario Louis De Cristoforo, born on August 28, 1931, in Newark, Essex County, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2025, in Raleigh, North Carolina. He was the cherished son of Mr. Mario De Cristoforo and Mrs. Julia Williams.

Mario spent his early years in Newark, where he attended school and cultivated a strong sense of duty and service. After completing his education from Upsala College in Essex County New Jersey, graduating with Bachelor of Arts Degree, he then proceeded and served honorably in the United States Army, earning an Honorable Discharge. His dedication to public service extended into his civilian career with the U.S. Postal Service, where he worked diligently for many years and retired with distinction as a Postmaster. Additionally, Mario served as a Sheriff before retiring to Raleigh.

An avid golfer, Mario found great joy and relaxation on the golf course throughout his life. He will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to his work, his service to his community and country, and the joy he brought to those around him.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Jael.

A Liturgy of the Word was held on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at 10:00am in the Chapel of Mitchell Funeral Home. Entombment followed in Raleigh Memorial Park Mausoleum.
