Mario was a proud American Veteran of the United States Army serving as a Military Police officer.
Following his time serving our nation over-seas, he met and married his loving wife and started a family while working as a Delivery Driver and Shop Foreman at Barrington Farms in Mount Vernon, NY.
In 1968, he relocated his family to Hopewell Junction, NY and began a career working for IBM Security. Several years later, he relocated to Boca Raton, Florida where he eventually retired from IBM. Upon retirement, he began driving for Palm Beach County Schools and was loved by all the students. His hobbies included playing softball, bowling, and golf. He also enjoyed making stained glass.
After the passing of the love of his life, his wife of 50+ years, Lois, he relocated to Durham, NC living with his youngest son and daughter in-law, Marc and Andrea Lomuscio. He enjoyed traveling between North Carolina, Florida, and New York, spending time with his son Rick and daughter-law Sue back in Boca Raton, Florida, as well as his son Michael and daughter-in-law Kathy, in Poughkeepsie, NY.
Mario, also known as “Poppy”, loved his nine grandchildren: Gloria, Danielle, Steven, Matthew, Rachel, Michelle, Antoinette, Mario, and Francesca. He leaves behind fifteen great-grandchildren and one on the way, Lu-Lu his loyal and loving dog will miss Mario as much as everyone else.
Mario is preceded in death by his parents, his wife and six siblings: Vito, Isabell, Anthony, Michael, Angela and Jennette.
A Memorial Service will be arranged at a later time through Babione-Kraeer Funeral Home in Boca Raton, Florida. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Wounded Warrior Project. (hyperlink below under donations)
