

Mary Stancil Holland, 78, of Raleigh died Wednesday, August 29, 2018 the SECU Hospice House in Smithfield, NC. Mary was born on November 8, 1939 in Wake County and was the daughter of the late Simeon Stancil and Nannie Strickland Stancil.
She was a graduate of Garner Senior High School, and was a Justice of the Peace for Wake County in the 1960's. During that same time period she was also a CNA at Dorthea Dix Hospital. In 1970, she started working for York Properties Inc. until her retirement as a property manager in 2005.
After her retirement she lived at Murphey School Apartments in Raleigh where she enjoyed spending time with close friends that were like her family. Mary attended the Senior Program at the Salvation Army and enrolled as a Soldier (member) on 03/30/08. She dearly loved her church family.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by five siblings.
Mary is survived by four children, Danny Holland of Raleigh, Teresa Holland of Magnolia, NC, Patricia Bazemore and her husband, Russell Williams of Clayton, NC, and Larry Holland of Magnolia, NC. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren; and a sister, Elouise Hawkes of Mebane, NC.
A memorial service to celebrate Mary's life will be held Saturday, September 8, 2018 at 2pm at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 Saint Mary's St. Raleigh, NC. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
