Mary Catherine McDuffie Howell

She was born in Raleigh on September 21, 1921 to Alexander C. and Arlesia Davis McDuffie. She was an active member of First Presbyterian Church in Raleigh where she had made lifelong friends, as well as being a dedicated member of the Koinonia Class.

Her invariable style, wit, and love will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Mary is survived by her son, Michael Howell; her daughter, Judy Howell Olive and her husband, Bobby; her son-in-law, Ronnie Speight; grandchildren, Arlesia Dreher, Jamie and Angela Olive, Stephanie and Jerry Bonner, Robin Olive, Joshua and Olympia Olive, Heather and Justin Hopkins, and Megan Olive; great-grandchildren, Dallas Olive, Hunter Dreher, Shelby Olive, Georgia Olive, Tristan Payne, and two unborn great-grandsons.

The family will receive friends Saturday, Nov. 19th from 6-8pm at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 Saint Mary’s St. Raleigh. A funeral service will be held Sunday, Nov. 20th at 4pm from the Chapel Mausoleum at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh, NC.

Flowers are acceptable or memorial contributions may be made to the Building Fund at First Presbyterian Church, 120 West Hargett St. Raleigh, NC 27601.
