Mary worked 34 years at Continental Baking Co. in Raleigh and 10 years for Wake County Schools as a Cafeteria worker. She enjoyed spending time with family, watching Stockcar Racing on TV, completing jigsaw & word puzzles and going to the Flea Market.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Clifton Lawrence, son Bobby Wayne Birdsong, and sister Shirley Boykin. She is survived by her son James Lawrence and wife Amy of Benson, NC. Mary was lovingly known as grandma to her grandchildren, Dylan Lawrence and Kori Lawrence of Benson, NC, Dallas Lawrence of Apex, NC, Sam Birdsong Manning of Smithfield, NC, and Clifton Birdsong of Oregon City, OR. Great grandchildren Adrianna, Breanna, Taylor, Kristina & Glenn.
A graveside service for Mary will be held Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Montlawn Memorial Park, 2911 S Wilmington St, Raleigh, NC 27603.
