Michael, who is fondly called Mike by his friends, was born on July 15, 1959, to Richard Grant Hanson and Carol Ann Hanson in John Day, Oregon. He graduated with a degree in Information Technology from the University of Phoenix.
John served in the US Navy for almost 10 years. Upon leaving the Navy, he started a career as a Manufacturing Technician and worked in different Asian countries, including Singapore, China and Taiwan. He met is wife Germela, in Taiwan, and has been married to her for 22 years.
When he was younger, he loved going fishing, hunting, and camping with his family. Mike is fond of traveling to new places with his family. He had a plan to be a vacation planner after retiring. During his free time, he enjoyed watching the Seattle Seahawks and Seattle Mariners and home improvement projects. He loved talking to people and telling both friends and strangers stories.
Mike is survived by his wife Germela Hanson and their two children Patrick Grant Hanson and Erin Danica Hanson. He is also survived by his brother, Kevin Hanson, his sister Hollie Watts, his parent-in-laws Tomas and Emilda Lucero, his sister-in-laws, Quevelyn Rivera, Honeyleen Meyer, Wemmalyn Narcilla, Venus Ganapao and Celeste Sayson along with his nieces Amanda Chapman and family, and Stephanie Ford and family.
His family and friends will always love him, and we will miss him dearly. We love you, Dad.
A private viewing will be held for his family and close friends and family.
