Michael Allen McConathy, 18, of Raleigh died unexpectedly at his home on Monday from complications of juvenile diabetes. Michael was born in Raleigh to Tom and Diane McConathy, who survive him. He graduated in 2015 from Corinth-Holders High School. Michael was an avid gamer and a fan of adventure and Sci-Fi movies. He was intelligent, and handy around the house. He also had a great sense of humor, was very tender hearted, and loved to bake and cook. He will be greatly missed by his family.
In addition to his parents Tom and Diane, he is survived by his beloved sister, Lindsay McConathy; his maternal grandfather, Robert Butt; his maternal grandmother, Margie Mayhew; his paternal grandfather, Sam McConathy; and extended family members.
A visitation will be held Thursday, February 4th, from 7-9 pm at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 Saint Mary’s St., Raleigh. Burial will be private.
