She was born to Billy Ray and Margaret Tyner Talton on February 3, 1962 in Smithfield, North Carolina.
She was blessed to be born with a best friend for life, her twin sister Vickie, as well as to have met and married the love of her life, Jamie Dickenson, her husband of 26 years.
Mickie loved her niece Blake with all her heart and was always so grateful to spend time with her family in Raleigh and Indian Beach.
Her life was filled with friends who will remember her as being kind, caring and always able to make you laugh. Her compassion for patient care was also present during the 34 years she worked at Rex Hospital.
Mickie is survived by her husband Jamie Dickenson; her sister, Vickie Talton Oeters, brother-in-law Chris Oeters and niece Blake Ashleigh Oeters; her father and step-mother Billy and Rachel Talton, and her step-brother and his wife, Jimmy and Tina Strickland.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022 at 11:00 am, at Raleigh Memorial Park, 7501 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27612.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Gail Parkins Memorial Ovarian Cancer Walk & 5k Run under Mickie’s team - “Mickie’s Monkeys”.
There will be a reception at The Dickenson Residence immediately following the service.
