Missy Kee Wei Cann, 63, of Havelock, NC, died on February 10, 2019. Missy was born and raised in Taiwan. She moved to the United States at the age of 21, when she married Gregory Cann. They remain close friends to this day.
Missy was a Grand Master of Tae Kwon Do. She was a teacher to many, having taught martial arts most of her adult life. Missy also worked and retired from the Department of Defense, Civil Service.
Strong willed, extremely caring, and generous are just a few of the ways Missy will be remembered. Her home was always open to those in need, and she loved helping people in any way possible. Through the years, she has mentored many children and adults alike, inside and outside the Tae Kwon Do community.
Missy will be greatly missed. She is survived by her son, Ulysses Cann and his wife, Aja; daughter, Mei Ling Cann; six siblings; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Su Shen Chen and Pei Lian Chen.
A visitation will be held Friday, February 15, from 6:00-8:00pm at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 16, at 11:00am, at the Mitchell Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will immediately follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.
