Monica was born on January 30th, 1974 in Brooklyn, New York to Conroy White Sr. and Dally White. Monica was the third of five children and she has three sisters: Ingrid Sylvester, Patty Cole, Connie McDaniels, and her brother Conroy White Jr. She attended Clara Barton High School and on June 15, 1991, she met her high school sweetheart, Rodolfo A. Crooks. Monica graduated from Medgar Evers College. On July 18, 1998, Rodolfo and Monica got married, and together they had three children Kaleb, Kylah and Kadyn.
Monica always had a passion for children and service. She worked as a childcare provider in New York, and upon moving to North Carolina, she served in Triangle Church's children’s ministry and daycare. A few years later, she established her own at-home daycare called Precious Times Preschool. She was active in her community, often volunteering at her children' s schools, and heavily involved at her church Triangle Church of Christ. Monica was known to be very creative. She loved making homemade gifts, doing hair, and making crafts with her family and friends.
Monica’s battle with breast cancer began in 2014. Although this news was hard to bear, that diagnosis didn’t stop her from doing the things she loved to do. She continued to run her day care and take care of the people she loved most. She fought very hard, and inspired many people throughout the course of her journey.
