Nancy was born in Philadelphia, PA, to George and Irene Duff. She spent the summers of her youth at the shore with her family in Wildwood Crest, NJ. Later in life, Nancy often reminisced about the good times spent at Crest Pier. Nancy moved to NC after marrying her husband, Donald B Duty, whom she met at a USO dance. They raised five children together. Nancy loved her family and friends, and she loved to travel. Her intelligence and good sense of humor made it easy for her to achieve life-long friendships, as she was so delightful to be around.
Preceded in death by her husband, Donald B. Duty; her parents, George and Irene Duff; her brother John Duff; and a sister Patricia Scholl. She has reunited with them, along with many of her good friends.
Nancy is survived by her five children; Steve Duty (Roz), Irene Pearce (Steve), David Duty (Roseann), Cindy Duty (Tim), and Don Duty. Her sister; Jane Duff (Gordon), and a legacy of ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 29th from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm at Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 300 Saint Mary's St., Raleigh. A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 30th at 11:00 am, at Brown-Wynne. Burial will be held at a later date.
