Nancy Magby Spencer

On March 19, 2022 Nancy Spencer ended her 15 month fight with the effects of two strokes and joined her Lord in Heaven. Nancy was born on February 24, 1946 in Presque Isle, Maine and lived in Maine and Massachusetts until she went college in Pennsylvania (Eastern Baptist College) and met her future husband Bill. Together they moved numerous times from Massachusetts, to Nevada, to New Hampshire, to North Carolina, to New Jersey, to California, to Pennsylvania, and back to North Carolina where she spent her last days.

Nancy loved to travel and went across this wonderful country by car (or VW van) over six times. She also spent time in Europe with her brother and husband in Italy, Switzerland, France, Germany, and Sweden. During the last several years, she and Bill went to conferences together and enjoyed their 50th anniversary in the Canadian Rockies on a rail trip.

Her love of her Lord and the work he did in her life, and the churches she went to were a major part of her life where she was a Church Secretary, and spent many years working with Bible Study Fellowship, and Prayer Groups, and Bible Studies.

Nancy has left a great family, husband Bill; three children and spouses, Scott and Anna, Mark and Debra, and Rebecca and Ian; and six grandchildren, Bea, Ed, Catherine, Ashley, Gideon, and John. She also left a brother, (Gary), and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jim and Sally. Not to mention her black pug Maxwell. She followed her Mom and Dad into Glory.

Nancy will be missed by all around her, friends in NJ, her church friends, and the neighbors here that have spent time with her, praying and watching her. We all miss her very much already.

A memorial service will be held in Raleigh, sometime in the next 6 weeks and she will be buried in a family plot in Presque Isle Maine later in the summer.
