Pamala Ehrens Dillard

Pamala Ehrens Dillard, 78, passed away on June 7, 2026 at Transitions LifeCare in Raleigh. Born on September 13, 1947 in Breckenridge, Minnesota; she was the tenth child of eleven of the late Rudolph Fritz Ehrens and Verneal Eckhoff Ehrens and wife of the late Alton Dale Dillard.

Pam met and married Alton Dale Dillard on April 19, 1966 in Minot, North Dakota and they moved to Raleigh, North Carolina in 1969 after Alton discharged from the Air Force. They were married 45 years until his passing on August 4, 2011. She worked at Sirchie Fingerprint Laboratories in order fulfillment and shipping – retiring in 2019 after 40 years. Pam enjoyed baking, fishing, playing games, dancing and was rather lucky at the slots.

She is survived by her two children: Ann Dillard Capps (late husband, Monty Capps), of Wake Forest and Kevin Dillard (wife Tanya Dillard), of Holly Springs; five grandchildren: Samantha Foreman (husband Joshua Foreman), Jessica Capps, Kaitlin Jackson (husband Kyle Jackson), Austin Dillard (fiancé Ashley Macom) and Grayson Dillard; great-grandchild: Alastair Foreman; brother: Leon Ehrens (and wife JoAnn); sisters: Peggy Locke, LaVonne Wegner, Karen Schroeder, Marie Stahlberg (and husband Gordon); many, many nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Alton; son-in-law: Monty; brothers: Rudolph "Buz" Ehrens, Jr. and Robert "Bob" Ehrens; and sisters: Shirley Score, Beverly Peterman, and Lois Allen.

Family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm at Mitchell Funeral Home in Raleigh, North Carolina. Family Graveside Services will be held at Brier Creek Memorial Gardens.
