Ann Hults, age 77, peacefully passed away on Sunday, December 9, 2018. Born in Charlotte, NC on August 15, 1941, she is the daughter of the late Arthur and Neva Hults. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her twin sister Adele Kesler.
Ann’s love for God, her family, friends, and many pets over the years were immeasurable. She loved gardening, beautiful flowers and plants, and her many birds who visited her backyard feeders every day. Ann had a caring heart, and loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren. She was a gifted artist and loved to paint nature scenes and warm landscapes. Ann had a jovial sense of humor with a lighthearted approach to life. She loved her coffee, Pepsi, and chocolate. She was petite but full of passion, wisdom, and kindheartedness.
Ann leaves behind to cherish her memory, son Mike Carlton and his wife, Kim; son Mark Carlton and his wife, Laura; and daughter, Judy Michael and her husband, Scott. She is survived by grandchildren, Christopher Carlton and his wife, Helen; Zachary Carlton, Bradley Carlton, and Jacob Michael. Ann is also survived by her brother, Barry Hults and his wife, Ginny.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Abbotswood at Stonehenge and her loving caregivers.
A celebration of Ann’s life will be held on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Mitchell Funeral Home (7209 Glenwood Ave. in Raleigh, NC), followed by family visitation. The service will be officiated by Reverend Sid Huggins. Private burial will follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, for those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to SPCA of Wake County for Ann’s love of animals or North Raleigh United Methodist Church.
