Patricia Scoggins Jenkins

Patricia Scoggins Jenkins, 64, of Raleigh, NC was surrounded by her loving family when she went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, July 25, 2014. She was born on March 17, 1950 to Raymond and Bertha Scoggins in Los Angeles, CA. Patricia grew up in Mt. Lebanon, PA and later became an Alumni of East Carolina University.

Patricia was an educator and teacher for more than 30 years. She also had many talents and interests. Her many loves included her association with church, playing piano, singing in her church choir, and being a Sunday School Teacher. Patricia was also an avid reader, loved playing Bridge and enjoyed making quilts. Of all her many gifts, she found that spending time with her granddaughter, Kennedy, was her most cherished.

Pat is survived by her husband, Robert Darrell Jenkins of Raleigh; son, Christopher Gilbert of Raleigh, NC; daughter, Sarah K. Dewan and her husband Michael of Raleigh, NC; granddaughter, Kennedy M. Dewan; brother, Raymond Grey Scoggins and wife Sue of Norwalk, Ct; sister, Connie Ward and husband Ralph of Milford, Ohio; and many other loving family and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Steven Leibowitz, Dr. Robert Wehbie and Liberty Hospice.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July, 30, 2014 at 11:00 am at Crabtree Valley Baptist Church, 4408 Lead Mine Rd., Raleigh, with burial in Raleigh Memorial Park immediately following. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 from 6:00–8:00 pm at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh.
