The family of Patricia L. Randolph, 79, of Raleigh, NC, announces her passing on March 25, 2025, with deep sorrow. True to her character, she left us with the same spirited and sassy flair she lived by.
Patty had a passion for decorating and making the things around her beautiful. Her greatest joy, though, was in giving—finding the perfect, unexpected gift for someone she’d just met, or someone she loved dearly. She was most proud of the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. Her greatest joys were her great grandsons, Carter and Crew Spence. Their Nanny left this earth praying they would find happiness in this complex, mixed-up world.
She'll be remembered for her unwavering opinions, her exquisite taste, her generous heart, and her refusal to mince words.
Patty was welcomed into heaven by her parents, J.E. and Burneline “Peggy” Johnston, whom she lovingly cared for. She leaves behind her daughters, Natalie Carter, Michelle Carter Holtzapfel (David), and adopted daughter, Shani Brown; granddaughter, Brynne Spence (Clark); grandson, Brycen Ferguson (Morgan); and three great-grandchildren.
The family extends deep gratitude to Katie Sweetapple, NP and Dr. Joseph Falsone who met Patty where she was, as well as Dr. Jaymin Modi and Dr. Charles Blevins for the care they gave during the heartbreaking final moments of her life.
A private service, as Patty wished, was held for her family and close friends in Raleigh, NC. Please remember her by performing an act of unexpected kindness.
“...but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” ~Isaiah 40:31
