Patricia Ann Snieska-Gilmore

Patricia Ann Snieska-Gilmore, 73, of Durham, North Carolina, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025. Patricia was born in Binghamton, New York, on June 7, 1951, the daughter of Louis and Pauline Alapeck. She graduated from Catholic Central High School, earned an Associate’s degree from Broome Technical College, earned a BA from SUNY at Binghamton, and earned a Master’s Degree in Public Health Administration from Mary Wood College. She served as Broome County Department of Health Deputy Commissioner and was later appointed to the Director of Public Health. Pat then brought her extensive experience in health administration to the New York Association of Counties in Albany (NYSAG) where she was involved in many statewide initiatives. During retirement, she volunteered as a Guardian Ad Litem in both Virginia and North Carolina. She remained actively engaged in her local HOA.

Pat is survived by her husband Carl Gilmore, whom she married in February 1999; her daughter Audra Phalen (Colin) grandchildren Alexis and Harper; daughter Alyssa Snieska (Safouh) grandchild Sarah; Carl’s son Ryan Gilmore (Kim) grandchildren Riley, Matthew and Carah; Carl’s daughter Karin McMahon (Mark) grandchildren Kate and Lauren; her brother Robert Alapeck (Joyce) and several cousins.

The services were held on February 22, 2025, at Mitchell Funeral Home, 7209 Glenwood Avenue, Raleigh, NC 27612.
