Pat graduated from Rocky Mount Senior High School and NC Wesleyan College. She taught mathematics, and retired from Wake County Public School System after 30 years of service. She loved teaching, appreciated arts and culture and traveling throughout Europe, including venturing to Paris on her own. She spoke French and loved to read and enjoyed many lasting friendships during her teaching career. She had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to play practical jokes. Above all she was a wonderful wife and loving mother.
Mrs. Whitaker is predeceased by her husband, William “Billy” Zeb Whitaker, Jr. and is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Leslie Ann Whitaker, of Clayton.
