Peggy grew up in Fayetteville, NC graduating from Fayetteville Senior High School in 1965. She moved to Raleigh following graduation from Greensboro Women’s College in 1967. Peggy enjoyed a great career in advertising sales at WKIX, WYYD and WRAL radio, eventually leading the sales team at WRAL FM.
Peggy loved her gardens, her many dogs and time serving as a docent at the Governor’s Mansion and at Christ Church. Her greatest love was her grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Wayne Watkins and his wife, Amy, of Raleigh and her grandchildren, Harper (20) and Howell (16).
